People talk to each other via text, voice and webcam. This is a really big phenomenon. I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I think there are a lot of chat rooms where people with similar interests can get together and share their views on different aspects of life. People can chat at the same time.
Unfortunately, a random check of his room where chats allegedly discuss important issues confirmed my preconceived notions of silly gossip from disgusted people. Some people seem really bored and want to be cool online, insult others and give this information technology field a bad name.
I assume you are using the room for personal conversations that you can't. I went to a chat room about religion and then a chat room about tattoos and it seemed to be the same people talking. Most of the conversation didn't even touch on the supposed topic. It was definitely a disappointing experience, but hopefully more research will have serious results.
